When we plant seeds or notice native plants volunteering in the lawn, when we save their lives from the mower, we start to love them like children. We start to have a tender spot in our hearts for them as they try to live. We check them every day or two. This love is important because it can extend to all creatures, all of nature, all of creation.  When we love nature, we seek to defend it.  Teach our children this.
