Lying on the beach on vacation, I had a thought that I was not being attentive enough to prayer and work. But in my prayer, Jesus quickly showed me that resting in the soft sand, with the gentle sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun, is like lying surrounded and enfolded by his soft sand-colored robes. After all, he said, the elements and all of creation have been provided by God for us to benefit from, and admiring their beauty as the handiwork of God is a form of prayer.

In my prayer, Jesus also said, “How many times do we have to tell you, God wants human beings to have rest?” God created the Sabbath for rest. And Jesus did not say, “Work without ceasing,” but rather “pray without ceasing.”

This is so important for modern people to know.
