Today there are workmen in the house doing roof and chimney repairs, so my usual time for contemplative prayer was postponed.  Amidst lots of activity, I realized that even in motion we can still connect with God’s presence in contemplative prayer. In the comings and goings, there too is the presence of God and the activity of the Holy Spirit.  There too is the energy of God in the dance of movement and the play of activity.  If we can go with the flow of that dance and float on the current of that activity, that too is contemplative prayer. Aware of the empty space between our molecules, that space in which God’s Spirit can flow, we can stay with that all day long.  And our clunky earthly being is also an expression of God’s creative love.  Amen.
