Many points of light

November 6, 2024

Today while I was praying in the church, I saw (with my inner eye of spirit) Jesus standing wrapped entirely in a dark blanket so I could not see him. The dark blanket reminded me of the cloth on the cross on Good Friday when Jesus is in the tomb.  It seemed he was hidden somehow.

He said, “I told you hard times are coming.” (This was in the message from May 9, 2024.)

Then I saw Jesus’ face as a very timeless, eternal, ancient image, a face very aware of suffering – his own suffering on the Cross and the suffering of humanity.  The timelessness of his sacred face put everything in perspective.  There was a sense of mourning, also death and mortality, dissolution, timelessness, and the impermanence of life.

Next there was a reminder to link arms with those who dwell in peace or seek peace. It will be important to provide many points of light, like a network of points of light, and to nurture peace in the world.  Then it was time to go to centering prayer practice.
