October 23. Later, at contemplative prayer group:  I saw Jesus sitting with clean comfortable robes, saying that when I go on retreat Monday he will be inviting me to stay safe at his house for a week.  In some ways it would be easier to stay safe and peaceful at his house all the time, but this sheep is adventurous and restless.  The sheep roams over the hillsides in the wide world, getting burs and mud in her wool, twisting her ankle, getting lost and then having to climb hills to get back with her flock.  But that is the path she has chosen, and the benefit is understanding all the obstacles that are encountered in the wide world and bringing others along.
